Discussion: Fair and equitable services

The Scottish Ambulance Service wants to plan and provide public services in a fair and equitable way. Under equality law we have a duty to give regard to the need to;

  • eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation
  • advance equality of opportunity
  • foster good relations, which includes tackling prejudice and building understanding
After research and consultation the Service developed Equality Outcomes for 2013 - 17 which were published in April 2013. In April 2015 we will publish an update report on our progress.

A Statement of Equality Outcomes can be found here

We are keen to seek opinions as to how we might build on this work in future and specifically ask for views / suggestions as to how we might further embed equality in all that we do.

What steps do you think the Service could take to promote equality and fairness? How easy to you find it to access our services? How could this be made easier?
